We believe that is our moral imperative to listen, learn, and act to help bend the arc of justice toward God’s vision of love, wholeness, peace, and justice for all of God’s children.
Our Social Justice Committee takes a central role in leading our pursuit of these goals. We monitor current events for issues that warrant a response, such as peaceful protests, media releases, letters to politicians, and collaborations with other groups, e.g.:
We respect the right of our members to express their individual opinions regardless of a discerned response from the Social Justice Committee or the community.
Our Community Outreach Committee leads efforts to help people in need. We have volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together Dayton. We furnish household essentials for first-time homeowners and tenants and clothing for the needy.
Our Member Support Committee assist LBC members who are experiencing personal or financial crises.
